6m12f20 The first area itteration has been made

I have spent most of this week creating the tutorial area.  That is just a fraction of the size that I hope most other areas will be.  Now, the sad part is that this is just a white boxed level.  No color, no sounds, no enemies, no objective.  This is just an area to see if travelling in it and seeing how it feels.  This area will probably be redone many times until I think I have hit a really good one.  I have made a map of this area and it is very bland and somewhat hard to describe.  To make a better tutorial area I tried basing my tutorial off of the half life tutorial.  This is probably the wrong direction because Metroid Prime and Super Metroid both have hidden tutorials that you don't see or feel.  Meaning the game tells you that you have to think for yourself.  This is all about design and intent and again, this is my weakest area.  I might even scrap this area in place of doing an invisible tutorial.  I'll have to go back to my references and see how they do it, what flaws they have and where I might want to improve.  Going back to Metroid Prime 1 and 2 along with Super Metroid.  Oh, one last thing I have made the jumping a little more like a platformer game.   Instead of always having to press jump right when you are on the ground I have give the player the ability to press the jump key many frames before landing and still jump afterwards.  This feels much better than before as you can press the jump button and it feels like the game is acknowledging it and not just ignoring it like before.
